Was Colonel Jomil John Trio caught in the crossfire of the warring Yanson family, owners of the contested Vallacar Transit Inc.?
PNP sources said Trio was unceremoniously booted out of his post as chief of the PNP Regional Civil Security Unit 6 (RCSU-6). The relief order was issued Aug. 1, 2019 and took effect immediately.
Trio was then assigned to their mother unit, the PNP Civil Security Group (CSG) based in Camp Crame in Quezon City. He will be assigned to the CSG’s administrative division.
The CSG is one of the main national support units of the PNP which has supervision over the Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies (SOSIA) and Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO).
CSG handles the organizational and business operations of all organized private security agencies and their personnel, company guard forces, and government guard units.
It is also in charge of the licensing and registration of firearms and explosives.
When asked about his sudden relief, Trio only confirmed the veracity of his reassignment but did not elaborate.
But according to reports, there were no prior information that he would be relieved from his post.
The last time the agency hugged the headlines was the installation of guards from AY Security Agency at the Ceres bus south terminal in Bacolod City on July 20.
The installation was in consonance to the order of Police Brigadier Gen. Noli Romana, then CSG commander who retired from police service on July 30.
The AY Security Agency is reportedly employed by the faction of Roy Yanson, who ousted his younger brother Leo Rey from VTI’s helm.
After which, the RCSU-6 received an order to maintain the status quo on the security agencies and guards of the disputed Yanson firm.
Replacing Trio is Colonel Fidel Dacpano, the former chief of CSG K-9 Division.
