Raymart Santiago, not the actor, was arrested in a police anti-narcotics operation on May 10, 2023 in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
The 28-year-old Santiago is a resident of Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao, where he was also collared.
Operatives of the Iloilo City Police Station 4 apprehended the suspect for allegedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu for P3,600.
When frisked, Santiago yielded three more sachets of suspected shabu, an empty cigarette pack, and an Android phone.
Executive Master Sergeant Nancy Mallorca, ICPS4 public information officer, said the seized drugs were valued at P34,000.
She said they have no records indicating that Santiago was previously arrested or was subjected to Oplan Tokhang.
With Santiago’s arrest, Mallorca said they would further strengthen the anti-illegal drugs campaign in Bakhaw, which has been tagged years back as Iloilo City’s “drug haven.”
“There are illegal drug trades that happen in the area but on a smaller scale. But we’re doing a relentless operation to pursue those who are still engaged in the trade,” she said.
Meanwhile, Santiago is now detained and would be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
