Raps filed vs robbers

BACOLOD City – Police have already identified one of the three persons behind the alleged robbery hold-up and carnapping incident in a restaurant at Barangay Alijis here last week.

Police Captain Elmer Bonilla, head of Police Station 7, said that robbery and carnapping charges were filed yesterday against the three suspects.

The charges were formalized after police identified the owner of a gray sedan that was used by the suspects in the incident, Bonilla said.

The car owner was identified after they coordinated with a bank and an insurance firm. Also, one of the victims identified him through a photo shown to them.

But Bonilla refused to name the car owner to protect the safety of the victims, while his two companions remain unidentified.

The suspects’ car was recovered abandoned in Barangay Mandalagan on August 3, 2021 few hours after they reportedly robbed a couple and allegedly carnapped their car and the motorcycle of a food delivery rider who was waiting for his client’s order at a restaurant in Barangay Alijis early that day.

The couple’s car was recovered abandoned later that day at Barangay 25, but the food delivery rider’s motorcycle is still missing.

Bonilla said they recently received information that the stolen motorcycle was seen at the area of Barangay Banago here.

“May nakakita daw sang motor, amo pa na ipa check ta,” he added.

Bonilla said the suspects might have committed the incident out of “tripping.”

“Basi bala nakasuyop kag ga kinahanglan kwarta, amo to natabo,” he added.
