Rape suspect nabbed after 22 years of hiding

ROXAS CITY, Capiz— A man wanted for the crime of rape finally fell into the hands of law enforcers.
Ronilo Cullo Sr., 65, was arrested by police Monday at his house in Brgy. Carataya, Cuartero, Capiz.
The late Roxas City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Sergio Pestaño issued Cullo’s arrest warrant on Sept 24, 1997. No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.
The suspect was charged for rape after he sexually abused a girl some time in 1997. He fled after the warrant for his arrest was issued.
Police failed to locate him since then.
The suspect is presently detained at the lock up cell of Cuartero police.
Meanwhile, a 40-year-old man was arrested Monday afternoon for the crime of homicide.
Donie Pavillan of Barangay Agambulong, Jamindan, Capiz did not resist when the police served his warrant of arrest.
A P120,000 bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.
