Rape suspect arrested in Sapian

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A man wanted for rape was arrested Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 28, in the municipality of Sapian.

Police identified the suspect only by the alias Nonoy, who is of legal age and a resident of Sapian.

The Sapian Municipal Police Station served a warrant of arrest against the suspect for two counts of statutory rape.

The charges were filed before Branch 20 of the Regional Trial Court in Mambusao, Capiz, presided over by Judge Judith Orendain-Tonogbanua, which issued the warrant on Jan. 27, 2026.

The court recommended no bail for the suspect’s temporary liberty.

The suspect is currently under police custody for proper disposition and court referral.
