ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A 75-year-old man wanted for rape was arrested by police Tuesday afternoon, May 12, in Barangay Poblacion, Jamindan, Capiz.
Police identified the suspect as alias “Jose,” a resident of Barangay Agloloway, Jamindan.
The Jamindan Municipal Police Station served the warrant of arrest against Jose, who was listed as the No. 3 most wanted person at the municipal level and No. 7 at the provincial level.
The warrant was issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Rommel L. Leonor of Branch 21 in Mambusao, Capiz.
The court recommended no bail for his temporary liberty.
Jose is in the custody of the Jamindan police for proper disposition.
Meanwhile, a security guard with a warrant of arrest for violating a city ordinance was arrested Monday afternoon, May 11, in Barangay Cabugcabug, President Roxas, Capiz.
Police identified the suspect as alias “June,” 42, of Barangay Dulangan, Pilar, Capiz.
June was charged with violating Mandaluyong City Ordinance 944, or the Smoke-Free and Vape-Free Ordinance.
The warrant was issued Feb. 26, 2026, by Judge Anna Carmi R. Calsado-Amoroso, presiding judge of the Metropolitan Trial Court, National Capital Judicial Region, Branch 97, Mandaluyong City.
June was released from police custody after posting PHP 2,000 bail for his temporary liberty.
In a separate operation, a farmer from Barangay Poblacion Ilawod, Dumarao, Capiz, was arrested Monday morning, May 11, for slight physical injuries in relation to Republic Act 7610.
Police identified the suspect as alias “Jr.,” 44, of Barangay Astorga, Dumarao.
Jr. was released after posting PHP 2,000 bail following his arrest.
