The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) On Tour returns to Manila today with a doubleheader at San Juan’s FilOil EcoOil Arena featuring matchups PLDT vs. Farm Fresh at 4 p.m. and Creamline vs. Cignal at 6:30 p.m.
Creamline and Cignal, both riding two straight wins from Vigan, will battle in a marquee Pool B clash that could determine early standings.
Creamline upset Capital1 in straight sets and beat Akari in four, while Cignal delivered sweeps over the same opponents to signal its championship intent.
The league’s new format puts added emphasis on prelim rankings, making today’s showdown a critical step toward quarterfinal qualification.
Fans can also look forward to rising rookies showcasing new talent, including Creamline’s Sheena Toring, who scored 10 points following a five-point debut.
Cignal’s Erin Pangilinan, Jessa Ordiales, and returning star Tin Tiamzon are also expected to shine for the HD Spikers.
Earlier today, PLDT’s Alleiah Malaluan and Zenneth Perolino will make their debut against Farm Fresh’s retooled roster featuring Ann Monares and setter Alohi Robins‑Hardy.
The top two teams from each pool earn direct quarterfinal slots while those ranked third to sixth will face-off in do‑or‑die crossover matches.
As new stars emerge and top players remain with the national team, today’s Creamline-Cignal match promises to be an early preview of potential playoff fireworks.

Meanwhile, Lyann De Guzman, the 23-year-old rookie, notched a consecutive Best Player of the Game performance to lead Nxled to a straight-sets victory over Choco Mucho, 25‑20, 26‑28, 27‑25, 25‑22, in Batangas.
Following a 21-point debut performance against Petro Gazz, De Guzman added 24 points and three aces, including the final match-winning serve.
She also contributed nine digs and 12 receptions, proving her value on both offense and defense as Nxled soared to the Pool A solo lead.
“I’m excited about this team. I see the potential — I know we can reach the Final Four in this tournament,” De Guzman said after earning her second straight Best Player award.
Teammates Chiara Permentilla, Jovelyn Fernandez, EJ Carino, Krich Macaslang, and rookie May Ann Nuique each played key roles in sealing Nxled’s upset wins.
Angels rally past Highrisers
Defending champions Petro Gazz rebounded from a shocking loss to Nxled with a close straight-sets victory over Galeries Tower, 25‑23, 25‑21, 26‑24, in a match lasting 1 hour and 38 minutes.
The Highrisers pushed each set to the wire, but Petro Gazz used late-game poise and momentum to close out the contest.
Nicole Tiamzon and Joy Dacoron made key impact plays for Petro Gazz, while Galeries Tower’s Jewel Encarnacion and Roselle Baliton showcased grit despite the result.
“We’re really happy with the win. We gave it our all, and I’m grateful for the trust the coaches placed in us,” Dacoron said after contributing 10 points.
