The Petro Gazz Angels finally snapped its four-game losing streak after taking down the Farm Fresh Foxies, 25-22, 19-25, 25-16, 26-24, in the ongoing Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference last November 21, 2023.
After receiving successive defeats at the hands of Creamline, Choco Mucho, Chery Tiggo, and Cignal, the Angels had a much-needed sigh of relief after re-entering the PVL winning column once again.
Thanks to a well-organized offensive flow from Petro Gazz as they dominated the Foxies in the spiking department, executing their signature deliveries to scoring machine Jonah Sabete to perfection.
Sabete, who put up tremendous numbers despite the loss during the past weeks, continued to shine for the Angels after scoring 21 points built from 19 successful attacks.
Aside from her well-known offensive prowess, Sabete wrapped up the game with an all-around efficiency, tallying 10 excellent digs, three blocks, and two service aces.
Sabete jump-started Petro Gazz’s scoring spree in the opening set after taking advantage of Farm Fresh’s flat middle blocking.
Despite Farm Fresh’s response that kept the first frame close, Sabete concluded the set with a thundering cross-court spike to help Petro Gazz clinch an early 1-0 lead.
However, it wasn’t a walk in the park for the Angels as Farm Fresh answered back in the following set, equalizing the match at 1-1 after doubling their effort on the defensive end.
Petro Gazz then had enough as they took the next two sets in dominating fashion to bag their fifth win of the season.
