The Choco Mucho Flying Titans made their first major Premier Volleyball League (PVL) offseason move after acquiring superstar libero Dawn Macandili-Catindig from the free agency market.
A month after the Cignal Super Spikers took a leave of absence from the PVL, the former Best Libero awardee found her new home and is set to fortify the Flying Titans’ floor coverage.
Choco Mucho’s latest signing was confirmed on May 27, 2026, via a social media post on its official Facebook page, where it welcomed Catindig and Jewel Encarnacion, a former Cignal outside hitter.
“A powerful new duo joins the Titans’ side,” Choco Mucho posted.
“Jewel Encarnacion and Dawn Macandili-Catindig are now flying with the Choco Mucho Flying Titans. Welcome to the #UbeNation Jewel and Dawn!”
Widely regarded as one of the greatest liberos to ever set foot in the Philippine volleyball scene, Catindig is expected to bring locker room leadership and veteran mentorship to Choco Mucho’s mainstay libero, Thang Ponce.
Ponce, a five-time Best Libero, will arguably form the best defensive floor coverage duo with Catindig in the back row once the 2026 PVL season kicks off.
Tagged as “Miss Everywhere” because of her hustle plays and ball recoveries off first-ball digs, Catindig boasts a long list of volleyball achievements in the national and international scenes.
After leading the DLSU Lady Spikers to three UAAP championship titles, Catindig immediately turned professional and rendered her services to the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers in 2016.
Catindig remained a proven winner after helping the Cargo Movers win four Philippine Super Liga titles while also being hailed as the league’s Best Libero five times.
Following her move to the PVL after the PSL ceased operations, Catindig spent most of her career playing for Cignal, recently helping the franchise earn a silver-medal finish in the All-Filipino Conference.
Internationally, she was awarded 2nd Best Libero in Asia during the 2017 Asian Women’s Volleyball Championship and Best Libero in the 2019 ASEAN Grand Prix.
Catindig will reinforce the already talented Choco Mucho core of Ponce, Eya Laure, Sisi Rondina, Des Cheng, Maddie Madayag, Dindin Santiago-Manabat, Deanna Wong, and Tia Andaya.
