With the Philippine Superliga about to open its new conference, league management decided to compress the remaining schedule to pave way for the players that will attend national team duties for the Southeast Asian Games that will be hosted by the Philippines.
The management trimmed down their schedule to just 10 match days from September 24 to October 17 to make room for the SEA games in November.
PSL features eight teams in their league, and almost half of the teams have members in the Philippine volleyball team that will compete in the SEA Games.
With PSL’s schedule adjustment until October 17, the team will have an extra 1 month of practice as preparation.
The team already started its preparations when they flew to Thailand for numerous tune-up games last September 7, 2019.
“We’re trying to align ourselves with the program of Larong Volleyball ng Pilipinas Inc and our national team to give support to the SEA Games,” said PSL Vice President Ian Laurel.
