BACOLOD CITY — The Philippine Statistics Authority Negros Occidental Provincial Statistical Office conducted the third-level training for the 2025 Household Survey on Domestic Visitors as it prepared for field operations across Negros Occidental and Bacolod City.
The press release, dated May 11, 2026, carried Reference No. PR2026-05-1845-73.
The training was held at the Provincial Statistical Office in Negros Occidental from April 27 to May 1, 2026.
The survey proper runs from May 4 to 26, 2026.
The 2025 Household Survey on Domestic Visitors is being implemented nationwide by the PSA in collaboration with the Department of Tourism under a memorandum of agreement approved in December 2025.
The PSA said the survey is the seventh in a series of household surveys on tourism.
It aims to generate updated household-level data on domestic and international tourism.
The PSA said the data are vital to the effective and efficient development and implementation of tourism plans and programs.
For this round, the PSA said 16 personnel were hired for the enumeration period, composed of 4 team supervisors and 16 statistical researchers who will be deployed across various areas of Negros Occidental and Bacolod City.
The personnel were trained on the objectives and purpose of the 2025 Household Survey on Domestic Visitors.
They were also trained on the proper use of survey instruments and field protocols to ensure accuracy and consistency in data collection.
The HSDV is a primary source for estimating the Philippine Tourism Satellite Accounts, particularly domestic and outbound tourism expenditures.
The survey also helps the Department of Tourism assess domestic travelers’ characteristics and preferences.
The PSA said the results will serve as baselines for National Tourism Development Program insights and policymaking.

De[note]d memory: Filipino compositions at the Conservatory
For most audiences and even among the most avid fans of classical music, the canon of work by Filipino composers remains as obscura. In recitals or concerts, the occasional Abelardo or Molina composition would surface, sometimes played as an encore in the programme – and that is all of it.
