BACOLOD CITY – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Negros Occidental registered 88-year-old Clarinda Asis and 95-year-old Adeline Asis in the PhilSys Registry through its PhilSys Mobile Registration on Wheels initiative on August 3, 2024.
Fleri Eugenia Venus, a relative of the registrants, sought assistance from the PSA – Negros Occidental Provincial Statistical Office on August 1, 2024, to register Asis for the National ID. The National ID is now required for delayed birth registrations through the Local Civil Registrar’s Office.
In response, the PSA – Negros Occidental PSO scheduled a mobile registration visit to Brgy. Felisa, Bacolod City, to accommodate the octogenarian and nonagenarian, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to an inclusive identification system.
The initiative particularly benefits senior citizens and persons with disabilities who have difficulty accessing PhilSys Registration Centers.
Lola Clarinda and Lola Adeline are among the many priority clients the PSA-Negros Occidental has assisted through its outreach efforts.
Chief Statistical Specialist John F. Campomanes highlighted the importance of such initiatives, saying, “This is such an opportune moment to get every Juan and Juana in the picture through our PSA services.”
