SALVADOR BENEDICTO, Negros Occidental — The Philippine Statistics Authority-Negros Occidental highlighted its National ID Authentication Services during the official 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System turnover ceremony to the local government of Bago City on May 20.
The presentation was delivered by Statistical Analyst Aira Camille E. de la Banda and presented directly to Bago City Mayor Marina C. Javellana-Yao.
The briefing focused on how the local government can use the National ID system’s authentication tools to streamline public service delivery, secure digital transactions, and help eliminate identity fraud in local programs.
The National ID system is designed to support easier identity verification and faster access to government and private services, while National ID authentication services allow relying parties to verify the authenticity of identity credentials.
The event was attended by officials from both regional and provincial statistical offices.
Representing the Regional Statistical Services Office-Negros Island Region were OIC-Regional Director John F. Campomanes and Registration Officer IV Kristelle Sa-onoy.
The Negros Occidental Provincial Statistical Office was represented by OIC-Chief Statistical Specialist Diesah S. Biaoco and Statistical Specialist II Fredimar Gonzales.
Key Bago City department heads also witnessed the turnover, demonstrating the local government’s commitment to integrating data-driven tools into local governance.
Among them were personnel of the City Planning and Development Office, led by Coordinator-Designate EnP Riza Segovia; City Civil Registrar Thomas Gay; and Atty. Yves Dreyfus of the City Legal Office.
The 2024 CBMS provides updated and disaggregated data that local governments can use for needs identification, poverty analysis, program targeting, policy design, and impact monitoring.
With the successful turnover of the CBMS data and the introduction of NIDAS, the local government of Bago City is better equipped to implement targeted, data-backed socioeconomic programs while ensuring secure and efficient identity verification for its constituents.
