The Philippine Statistics Authority–Negros Island Region (PSA-NIR) successfully launched its first Civil Registry System (CRS) Mobile Outlet in Siquijor town, Siquijor province on June 3, 2025.
This milestone marks a major step for the Regional Statistical Services Office of the Negros Island Region (RSSO NIR) in delivering vital civil registration services closer to the community.
The event was led by National Statistician and Civil Registrar General Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD.
Also present were Siquijor Provincial Administrator Cyrus S. Olpoc, PSA-NIR Interim Regional Director John F. Campomanes, PSA-Siquijor OIC-Chief Statistical Specialist Engr. Joselito C. Maghanoy, and PSA-Negros Oriental Chief Statistical Specialist Engr. Ariel T. Fortuito.
The PSA CRS Mobile Team offered on-site printing of civil registry documents, processing requests directly from Siquijor residents.
A ceremonial release of the first printed security paper (SECPA) copies of birth, marriage, and death certificates was held, with the documents personally awarded by Undersecretary Mapa and other PSA officials.
The event also featured teams from the National ID initiative and the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP).
A highlight was the awarding of a birth certificate to a 72-year-old BRAP beneficiary, demonstrating the project’s role in supporting vulnerable individuals.
To strengthen future services, Undersecretary Mapa held a consultative meeting with Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Member Brylle Deeiah Tumarong-Quio and Siquijor Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. President Arthur Chan.
The discussion focused on expanding and enhancing civil registration accessibility across the province.
This pioneering CRS Mobile Outlet reinforces PSA’s mission to improve access to essential civil documents and services for all Filipinos.
