BACOLOD CITY – The Philippine Statistics Authority in Negros Occidental said it has completed its Third Level Training for the April 2026 Labor Force Survey, or LFS, with rider questions on informal statistics and unpaid care and domestic work, as part of preparations for field operations in the province.
The PSA Negros Occidental Provincial Statistical Office said in a press release dated April 10, 2026, with Reference No. PR2026-04-1845-58, that the training was held on March 30–31 and April 1 and 6–7, 2026.
The agency said the April 2026 LFS is being conducted to collect demographic and socio-economic data from households nationwide.
It said the survey also serves as the primary instrument for monitoring labor market indicators, including unemployment rates, labor force participation, and average hours worked.
Alongside the LFS, the PSA said it is also conducting rider questions on informal statistics and unpaid care and domestic work.
According to the agency, the informal statistics component captures information on informal employment and the informal sector.
The PSA said these questions are essential for improving working conditions and reducing poverty, while helping government craft policies and programs that address the consequences of informality.
The unpaid care and domestic work component, the agency said, aims to generate statistical information on the equal redistribution of unpaid care and domestic work between women and men in households.
The training was facilitated by Provincial Focal Person Resty John M. Bancruz and Assistant Focal Person Aira Camille de la Banda, with support from other PSA Negros Occidental personnel.
