SAGAY CITY, Negros Occidental — The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Negros Occidental Provincial Statistical Office held an Information, Education, and Communication campaign and gift-giving activity in Barangay Paraiso, Sagay City, as part of its corporate social activity for the 2026 National Women’s Month celebration.
The activity aimed to promote awareness of women’s empowerment and gender equality while extending support to women in the community.
Participants included PSA personnel, representatives from the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) of Sagay City, and barangay officials of Barangay Paraiso.
The group shared information related to National Women’s Month and highlighted the role of women in nation-building.
The campaign also featured information drives on the Birth Registration Program, National ID, and Gender and Development, or GAD.
PSA Negros Occidental said the information campaign was intended to help raise awareness of women’s rights, gender equality, and government programs that support women’s welfare.
The office said the activity reaffirmed its commitment to programs and initiatives that promote gender equality, women’s empowerment, and community engagement.
It added that the event also strengthened its partnership with the community in advocating for the rights and welfare of women.
Overall, PSA Negros Occidental described the IEC campaign and gift-giving activity as a meaningful contribution to the celebration of National Women’s Month 2026.
National Women’s Month is observed every March in the Philippines under a set of national issuances that include Proclamation No. 227, which provides for the observance of March as Women’s Role in History Month, and Republic Act No. 6949, which declares March 8 of every year as National Women’s Day.
The Philippine Commission on Women, which leads the annual observance, says the celebration is meant to raise awareness of women’s rights and gender equality while recognizing women’s contributions to national development.
