SILAY CITY – The Philippine Statistics Authority – Negros Occidental Provincial Statistical Office held a tree planting activity at the Silay Outdoor Recreation and Eco-Tourism Center (SORETA), Barangay Patag, Silay City, Negros Occidental. This event was part of the 35th National Statistics Month celebration with the theme “Advancing Data and Statistics Through Digital Transformation: A Road to an Empowered Nation.”
The activity was organized in coordination with the City of Silay Environment and Natural Resources Office (ENRO).
Twenty PSA Negros Occidental employees and staff planted 100 oding and bakan seedlings. SORETA, the only tourist destination run by the Silay City Government, was endorsed by the Protected Area Management Board (PAMB), which oversees properties in the Northern Negros Protected Area.
Tree planting and environmental protection form part of the Philippine Statistics Authority’s corporate social responsibility. These initiatives contribute to environmental sustainability and community well-being, promoting a greener future and making a positive impact beyond data and statistics.
