MANAPLA, Negros Occidental—In celebration of the 35th National Statistics Month with the theme “Advancing Data and Statistics Through Digital Transformation: A Road to an Empowered Nation,” the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Negros Occidental Provincial Statistical Office conducted a coastal cleanup in Barangay Punta Mesa, Manapla, Negros Occidental, on October 19, 2024.
Barangay Punta Mesa is a coastal area in the Municipality of Manapla, bordered by the Guimaras Strait to the west.
Eighteen PSA Negros Occidental employees and staff participated in the activity, collecting and disposing of around 20 sacks of garbage and waste from the shore.
Environmental protection is part of PSA’s corporate social responsibility, which aims to contribute to environmental sustainability and community well-being. This initiative reflects the agency’s commitment to a greener future and making a positive impact beyond data and statistics.
