BACOLOD CITY — The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Negros Occidental is conducting the Fourth Level Training for statistical researchers on the 2025 Updating of List of Agricultural Farm Operators (ULAFO) and Inland Municipal Fishing Households and the 2025 Listing of Marine Fish Landing Centers (LMFLC) First Batch from Aug. 11 to 15, 2025.
PSA Officer-in-Charge Diesah S. Biaoco delivered her welcome message, encouraging the hired statistical researchers to actively participate in the training.
The five-day program is designed to equip hired researchers in the province with essential skills and knowledge to effectively carry out the listing activity.
It introduces participants to the survey’s concepts and objectives, while providing hands-on exercises to improve their ability to use devices and engage with communities.
A highlight of the activity was the visit of National Statistician and Civil Registrar General Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD, who emphasized the significance of this nationwide undertaking for the agriculture and fisheries sectors.
He explained that the results will update the list of operators and landing centers, forming the basis for an improved sampling frame for future agricultural and fisheries surveys and generating production estimates.
Mapa also stressed the importance of gathering precise and reliable data during field enumeration.
The first batch of training includes 148 hired statistical researchers from Districts 3, 5, and 6 of the province.
Serving as resource persons are the regional focal person, provincial focal person, staff from the Provincial Statistical Office, and 18 team supervisors assigned to their respective districts, all of whom contribute their expertise to enrich the program in both topics and fieldwork.
