PSA Negros Occidental brings ID services to job fair

BACOLOD CITY — The Philippine Statistics Authority Negros Occidental Provincial Statistical Office brought National ID and civil registration services closer to jobseekers as it joined the World Café of Opportunities at Ayala Malls Capitol Central on Aug. 24, 2026.
The activity was held in observance of National Technical-Vocational Day and the 32nd anniversary of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
TESDA Negros Occidental organized the annual World Café of Opportunities in partnership with the Public Employment Service Office.
The sector-based job fair connects technical-vocational education and training graduates, National Certificate holders, and local jobseekers directly with public- and private-sector employers.
The initiative seeks to improve skills-to-job matching while creating opportunities for hiring on the spot.
PSA Negros Occidental deployed four personnel at the venue to support the employment-focused activity.
The agency said its on-site presence was intended to give attendees, graduates, and job applicants immediate, hands-on administrative assistance by bringing government services directly to the event.
The services were also designed to help participants secure essential documentation needed for employment readiness and official onboarding.
Among the services offered was National ID Mobile Registration.
The PSA team also issued the National ID in paper form, or ePhilID.
Personnel provided assistance and answered inquiries concerning the Birth Registration Assistance Project, or BRAP.
The agency also distributed official PSA notices of vacancy, giving jobseekers information on public-sector career opportunities within the PSA as part of the inter-agency initiative.
The outreach is consistent with the PSA’s broader push to provide National ID and civil registration services through mobile activities, particularly to make government documentation more accessible outside regular offices. In June 2026, the agency said its nationwide mobile operations included National ID registration, paper-form National ID printing, civil registry document services, and birth registration assistance.
BRAP is intended to increase birth registration, particularly among marginalized and underserved Filipinos, and to help establish legal identity needed to access government and social services.
As of April 2026, the PSA said BRAP had facilitated the birth registration of 522,731 previously unregistered Filipinos toward a national target of 2 million individuals.
The Aug. 24 activity formed part of the collaboration among PSA Negros Occidental, TESDA Negros Occidental, and PESO to combine employment opportunities with access to government documentation and services.
