The Philippine Statistics Authority Negros Island Region launched its first Civil Registry System Mobile Outlet in the municipality of Siquijor on June 3, 2025.
This milestone marks the beginning of the PSA–Regional Statistical Services Office Negros Island Region’s efforts to bring civil registration services closer to residents.
The event was led by National Statistician and Civil Registrar General Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, Ph.D., and attended by Siquijor Provincial Administrator Cyrus S. Olpoc, PSA–NIR Interim Regional Director John F. Campomanes, PSA–Siquijor OIC-Chief Statistical Specialist Engr. Joselito C. Maghanoy, and PSA–Negros Oriental Chief Statistical Specialist Engr. Ariel T. Fortuito.
The CRS Mobile Team provided on-site printing of civil registry documents, including a ceremonial release of the first printed Security Paper copies of birth, marriage, and death certificates.
The documents were personally awarded to recipients by Undersecretary Mapa and the PSA leadership.
The event also featured services from the National ID registration team and the Birth Registration Assistance Project.
One highlight was the issuance of a first-ever birth certificate to a 72-year-old woman through BRAP, demonstrating the program’s value to underserved populations.
Undersecretary Mapa also met with Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Member Brylle Deeiah Tumarong-Quio and Siquijor Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Arthur Chan to discuss plans for improving civil registration services in the province.
This initiative reinforces PSA’s commitment to expanding access to essential public services across remote and underserved areas.
