The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Iloilo Provincial Statistical Office formally turned over the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) data to municipalities in the third, fourth, and fifth congressional districts of Iloilo during a ceremony on Sept. 29, 2025, at the City of Passi Arena in Passi City.
The turnover covered municipalities in the Third District—Badiangan, Bingawan, Cabatuan, Calinog, Janiuay, Lambunao, Maasin, Mina, and Pototan.
It also included the Fourth District’s Anilao, Banate, Barotac Nuevo, Dingle, Dueñas, Dumangas, Passi City, and San Enrique.
The Fifth District municipalities were Ajuy, Balasan, Barotac Viejo, Batad, Carles, Concepcion, Estancia, Lemery, San Dionisio, San Rafael, and Sara.
The ceremony was attended by municipal mayors, vice mayors, Sangguniang Bayan members, and other representatives, highlighting the CBMS’s role in enhancing local governance and development.
Distinguished guests included PSA Region VI Regional Director Nelida C. Amolar; PSA Iloilo Officer-in-Charge Jerry L. Dolutan; League of Municipalities of the Philippines – Iloilo Chapter President Hon. Suzette A. Mamon; Iloilo PPDO Division Chief Engr. Jose Noel Cabaluna; and DICT Iloilo Planning Assistant for Cybersecurity Rex Vincent C. Degobaton.
On behalf of Passi City Mayor Atty. Stephen A. Palmares, Vice Mayor Elyzer C. Chavez welcomed participants and thanked PSA and partner agencies for selecting Passi City as host of the event.
In her message, Amolar emphasized the importance of CBMS in promoting data-driven governance and evidence-based decision-making.
A key highlight of the event was the symbolic signing of Data Turnover and Data Sharing Agreements between PSA officials and local chief executives.
The signing demonstrated a shared commitment to data privacy, responsible information use, and intergovernmental collaboration for development planning.
Dolutan presented highlights of the 2024 CBMS results, offering a detailed socio-economic profile of the municipalities based on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) indicators.
These insights are intended to support local government units in poverty reduction, resource allocation, and program targeting.
On behalf of the municipalities, Mamon delivered the acceptance message, reaffirming LGUs’ commitment to using the data for effective development planning.
Cabaluna outlined provincial plans and programs that will utilize and safeguard CBMS data to support inclusive growth.
Degobaton and an audiovisual message from DILG Iloilo Provincial Director Engr. Carmelo F. Orbista, CESO V, expressed support for integrating CBMS into governance systems while ensuring data security.
PSA Iloilo’s Donna Rose Sequio concluded the event by reaffirming the agency’s commitment to providing reliable, timely statistics to support inclusive and evidence-based development.
The CBMS turnover reinforces PSA Iloilo’s partnership with local governments and highlights CBMS as a critical tool for identifying community needs and guiding responsive policies.
