The Philippine Statistics Authority-Iloilo Provincial Statistical Office has started field operations for the January 2026 Labor Force Survey and the second visit of the 2025 Family Income and Expenditure Survey rider.
The office said 111 hired statistical researchers completed third-level training held Jan. 6–12, 2026, at Punta Villa Resort in Barangay Santo Niño Sur, Arevalo District, Iloilo City.
The Labor Force Survey is a nationwide, household-based survey that gathers demographic and socioeconomic data and measures key labor market indicators, including labor force participation, employment and unemployment, hours worked, industry and occupation, and the characteristics of unemployed individuals.
The Family Income and Expenditure Survey rider is conducted alongside the July 2025 and January 2026 rounds of the Labor Force Survey and is carried out in two separate visits.
The PSA said the FIES is the country’s primary source of data on family income and its sources, as well as family expenditures, including cost and consumption volume.
The agency said FIES data are used to assess income distribution, living standards, spending patterns and the extent of income inequality among Filipino families, which helps inform public policy and program targeting.
The PSA said trained statistical researchers were deployed to selected sample municipalities in Iloilo province and to Iloilo City, a highly urbanized city, and began enumeration Jan. 13, 2026.
Field operations will run until the end of January, the PSA said.
For this round, the PSA said 1,543 sample households in Iloilo province and 1,596 sample households in Iloilo City will be visited and interviewed.
For updates and announcements, the PSA advised the public to follow the PSA Iloilo Provincial Statistical Office Facebook page or call (033) 327-9219.
