The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Iloilo will begin field operations for the 2025 Household Survey on Domestic Visitors (HSDV) from May 4 to 26, 2026.
The nationwide undertaking is a joint effort of the PSA and the Department of Tourism (DOT), conducted every three years pursuant to PSA Board Resolution No. 05, Series of 2021.
PSA Iloilo said the survey aims to gather updated and comprehensive data on the travel patterns of domestic and international visitors, which will serve as a foundation for evidence-based policymaking and the enhancement of tourism statistics in the Philippines.
In the province of Iloilo, the survey will cover 27 sample Primary Sampling Units (PSUs), while an additional 32 sample PSUs will be covered within Iloilo City.
To ensure data quality and reliability, the PSA is using the 2023 Geo-Enabled Master Sample (GeoMS), which features georeferenced coordinates for all sample households to improve survey accuracy.
Trained Statistical Researchers (SRs) will be deployed to the sample areas to conduct interviews using Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) technology on tablets.
The agency said the digital approach allows for efficient data entry, immediate validation, and timely uploading of results to the central server.
PSA Iloilo enjoined residents in the selected sample areas to extend their full cooperation to the authorized survey personnel.
All field staff, including hired SRs and Team Supervisors, will be identified by their official 2025 HSDV polo shirts and valid identification cards.
PSA Iloilo assured the public that all information gathered will be treated with the utmost confidentiality, in strict compliance with Republic Act No. 10625, or the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013, and the Data Privacy Act of 2012, and will be used for statistical purposes only.
The press release was issued by Jerry L. Dolutan, Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA RSSO VI – Iloilo.
