The Philippine Statistics Authority Iloilo has launched its 2025 Updating of List of Agricultural Farm Operators and Inland Fishing Households (ULAFO) and Listing of Marine Fish Landing Centers (LMFLC) on August 13, 2025.
The nationwide statistical initiative aims to improve the accuracy and reliability of agricultural and fisheries surveys and data.
Information collected will provide an updated sampling frame for PSA’s quarterly surveys covering agriculture, inland fisheries, and commercial and municipal fisheries.
In Iloilo, ULAFO will be conducted in designated areas of Iloilo City, while LMFLC will cover coastal areas in both Iloilo Province and Iloilo City.
Specifically, ULAFO seeks to identify the number of agricultural operators and inland fishing households and determine the types of agricultural activities practiced, such as crop farming, livestock, and poultry raising.
The survey will also collect detailed data on farm characteristics, land parcels, crops planted, and livestock or poultry raised.
The LMFLC component will gather information on marine fish landing centers, including their classifications, categories, unloading schedules, and estimated fish volumes.
“For this year’s implementation, we deployed 92 enumerators and 9 team supervisors for ULAFO, and 8 enumerators for LMFLC,” PSA Iloilo said in a statement.
The agency urged residents in covered areas to cooperate with authorized enumerators to ensure accurate data collection.
“All information gathered will be kept with utmost confidentiality in compliance with the Data Privacy Act and will be used for statistical purposes only,” PSA Iloilo emphasized.
The updated lists are critical in supporting evidence-based agricultural and fisheries policies, programs, and investments at both national and local levels.
PSA’s statistical products guide resource allocation and planning, particularly in addressing food security, farmer and fisherfolk welfare, and rural development priorities.
