The Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) will grant the Athlete of the Year award to Team Philippines.
After a successive string of international accolades, PSA unanimously gave the award to the members of Team Philippines who delivered gold medal after gold medal during their respective international tourneys to the 30th Southeast Asian Games.
Gymnast Carlos Yulo, weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz, boxer Nesthy Petecio, and skateboarder Margielyn Didal will lead the list of awardees that were among the notable athletes to put the country in the limelight in the world of sports.
Yulo, Diaz, Petecio, and Didal also delivered tons of gold medals for team Philippines during the 30th SEAG and dominated their respective sport in their quest for a 2020 Tokyo Olympic berth.
Also, billiards legend, Efren “Bata” Reyes, will be gracing the event to be one of the guest speakers who the PSA hopes to inspire the young athletes regarding their journey.
