In preparation for the full implementation of 2026 National ID operations, the Philippine Statistics Authority Guimaras Provincial Statistical Office conducted second-level training for National ID registration personnel on Jan. 15–16, 2026, at the PSA Guimaras Provincial Statistical Office in San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras.
The activity served as a refresher for existing registration kit operators and registration assistants and as capacity-building for newly added registration kit operators and registration assistants who have also previously served in National ID operations.
“This ensured a common understanding of updated guidelines and reinforced standard registration practices among all participants,” Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare said.
The two-day training focused on strengthening the technical skills and operational readiness of registration frontliners through discussions on updated policies, procedures and system applications under the National Identification System.
Topics included the end-to-end registration process, proper screening of supporting documents, accurate capture of demographic and biometric information, and handling of proxy and MVS cases.
“Participants were also oriented on guidelines for change or correction of demographic information, use of reports and monitoring tools, and standard responses to frequently encountered registration concerns,” Losare said.
Data privacy and security were emphasized throughout the training, highlighting the responsibility of registration kit operators and registration assistants in safeguarding registrants’ personal information.
Sessions on generating and promoting the Digital National ID also strengthened awareness of its role in providing accessible and secure identification services.
A highlight of the activity was hands-on simulation exercises using actual registration kits and National ID system tools.
“These exercises allowed participants to refresh their skills, align operational practices, and improve efficiency and confidence during actual registration operations,” Losare said.
Through continuous capacity-building initiatives, PSA Guimaras reaffirmed its commitment to delivering efficient, secure and people-centered National ID services.
“As preparations for 2026, the office remains focused on ensuring that trained and experienced personnel are fully equipped to serve every Guimarasnon,” Losare said.
The National ID is the government’s official identification system, designed to provide Filipinos and resident aliens with a trusted proof of identity to help streamline transactions in government and the private sector.
