PSA Guimaras logs 130 National ID transactions at caravan

BUENAVISTA, Guimaras — The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Guimaras processed 130 National ID-related transactions during Project Gabay Katutubo 2.0 with Serbisyo Caravan, bringing registration, issuance and demographic information updating services directly to members of the Indigenous Peoples community.
“The activity was held on September 24, 2026, at the Barangay San Nicolas Gymnasium, Buenavista, Guimaras, where various government agencies and partner organizations brought their programs and services closer to the Indigenous Peoples community,” Provincial Statistics Officer Nelda B. Losare said.
PSA Guimaras recorded 20 National ID registrations, 89 National ID issuances and 21 demographic information updates during the activity.
From January to September 2026, PSA Guimaras recorded 6,651 National ID registrations across the province.
During the same period, the provincial office issued 17,359 National IDs in paper form.
“Aside from providing frontline services, PSA Guimaras also conducted an information campaign on the three forms of the National ID—card, paper, and digital,” Losare said.
The campaign informed participants about the different forms of the National ID and their use as proof of identity when accessing government and private-sector services.
“The information campaign also aimed to strengthen awareness among members of the IP community on the availability of the different forms of the National ID and the importance of having a reliable and accessible proof of identity,” Losare said.
The delivery of National ID services during the caravan allowed community members to access registration, issuance and updating services within their locality.
The National ID system was established under Republic Act No. 11055, or the Philippine Identification System Act, to provide Filipinos and resident aliens with a valid proof of identity that can be used in transactions with government agencies and private institutions.
Project Gabay Katutubo 2.0 is a convergence initiative bringing together government agencies, local stakeholders and partner organizations to promote inclusive and people-centered development among Indigenous Peoples.
The program included presentations on government programs and services and a Serbisyo Caravan that allowed participating agencies to provide direct assistance to community members.
Ceremonial turnovers by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources and the Department of Agriculture were also conducted during the activity.
The initiative was undertaken through the collaboration of the Commission on Population and Development Region VI, National Commission on Indigenous Peoples Region VI/VII, partner government agencies, civil society organizations and local stakeholders.
PSA Guimaras said its participation provided an opportunity to deliver National ID services directly to the IP community while increasing awareness of the National ID and its different forms.
“Through continued community-based service delivery and information activities, PSA Guimaras remains committed to making National ID services more accessible and bringing relevant identity information closer to communities across the province,” Losare said.
