The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Guimaras Provincial Statistical Office has launched its Handog Serbisyo program, bringing gift-giving and vital registration services to communities across the province this September as part of its commitment to deliver innovative, community-focused services beyond its regular statistical and civil registration functions.
“The program was first launched on Sept. 24, 2025, in Barangay Guiwanon, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras,” Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare said.
“Children received school supplies with snacks and treats, while senior citizens and other residents were given tote bags and foldable fans,” she added.
“Tokens of appreciation were also distributed to each Office of the Sangguniang Barangay visited as recognition of their unwavering support,” Losare said.
As part of the activity, PSA Guimaras conducted National ID registration and an information campaign to ensure more residents could access the National ID program.
Clients availed themselves of new National ID registration, issuance of the National ID in paper form (ePhilID), replacement of damaged National IDs with peeled-off photos, guidance on accessing the digital National ID via the eGovPH app, and inquiries about the delivery or status of their National ID.
Residents also raised queries about corrections or updates to their information, which PSA Guimaras advised could be processed at the Fixed Registration Center in San Miguel, Jordan.
The National ID team served 42 clients on Sept. 24 and 76 individuals on Sept. 25 in McLain, Buenavista.
The final schedule for September was set on Sept. 30 at Barangay Nazaret.
Alongside registration, PSA Guimaras conducted a National ID information campaign focusing on the three types of National IDs—the physical card, the paper form that serves as an official ID while awaiting the physical card, and the digital ID accessible through the eGovPH app for online and mobile transactions.
The campaign also discussed the usage and validity of all three types of National ID, emphasizing that each is a valid and official proof of identity for both government and private transactions.
This helped reassure registrants about the importance and reliability of the National Identification System in everyday life.
“Also, in collaboration with the Municipal Civil Registrar (MCR), live birth registration was facilitated and registered live birth certificates were distributed to BRAP beneficiaries, extending vital services directly to the community,” Losare said.
“The lined-up Handog Serbisyo activity in September will continue in October 2025 and the succeeding months, for this will no longer be a one-time effort but will serve as the regular social responsibility initiative of the office, which aims to benefit more Guimarasnons by bringing services closer to their communities,” she added.
Losare emphasized that through the program, PSA Guimaras reaffirms its commitment not only to deliver accurate statistics and reliable civil registration services but also to give back to the community by bringing essential services and small tokens of care directly to the people.
