The Philippine Statistics Authority Provincial Statistical Office of Guimaras sustained its barangay outreach initiatives by simultaneously conducting National ID registration, demographic information updating and correction services, and 2026 Community-Based Monitoring System re-assessment and validation activities across the province.
The CBMS re-assessment and validation started April 14, prioritizing households benefiting from government social protection programs, particularly beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, or 4Ps.
“The activity aims to update and validate household information to support government planning, targeting, and implementation of programs and services,” Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare said.
CBMS is a local-level data collection system used to gather information on households and communities to support evidence-based planning, poverty reduction, and the delivery of government programs.
As CBMS validation activities began in April, PSA-Guimaras also continued its National ID registration, demographic information updating, correction, and issuance services in various barangays through field deployments and community-based activities.
The National ID system, officially known as the Philippine Identification System, seeks to provide Filipinos and resident aliens with a valid proof of identity for easier access to public and private services.
As of Friday, May 21, CBMS teams had conducted re-assessment and validation activities in 43 barangays across Guimaras.
At the same time, National ID teams continued providing registration, updating, correction, and issuance services to residents who were still unregistered or needed changes in their demographic information.
Among the areas reached were Barangay Balcon Melliza on April 14 and Barangay San Miguel on April 23, both in Jordan, as well as Barangay Navalas in Buenavista on April 15.
Residents in these areas received CBMS-related services, National ID registration, demographic information updating and correction services, and National ID issuance assistance.
To further strengthen service delivery and maximize government outreach, PSA-Guimaras joined Family Development Sessions attended by 4Ps beneficiaries.
National ID registration, updating, correction, and issuance services were also made available to participants during the sessions.
The CBMS team also participated in a co-location activity conducted by the Department of Social Welfare and Development on May 20–21 in Nueva Valencia.
“The activity provided an avenue for the simultaneous delivery of government services, including National ID registration, demographic information updating and correction services, issuance activities, and CBMS-related activities,” Losare said.
From April 1–30, PSA-Guimaras recorded 878 successful National ID transactions during its field operations.
Of the total clients served, 216 were children ages 0–4 under the National ID registration for children initiative.
During the same period, PSA-Guimaras also recorded 888 National ID issuances in various barangays across the province.
Throughout April, PSA-Guimaras expanded its mobile National ID operations beyond registration by also providing demographic information updating, correction, and issuance services in barangays across Guimaras.
The activities were conducted in coordination with barangay officials and partner agencies to bring government services closer to communities and improve access to National ID-related services.
“The continued implementation of National ID activities forms part of PSA-Guimaras’ efforts to expand registration coverage and bring frontline government services closer to communities throughout Guimaras,” Losare said.
