PSA Guimaras brings National ID services to vulnerable sectors

Thousands of Guimarasnons from vulnerable and priority sectors benefited from National ID services in the first half of 2026 as the Philippine Statistics Authority Guimaras Provincial Statistical Office strengthened its commitment to inclusive and people-centered service delivery.
A total of 16,604 clients availed themselves of various National ID services during the period, including beneficiaries of government social protection programs, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, children, and other community members.
Of the clients served, 8,658, or 52.14%, were non-Department of Social Welfare and Development clients.
Another 4,875 clients, or 29.36%, were beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, or 4Ps.
Social Pension beneficiaries accounted for 3,030 clients, or 18.25%, while 31 persons with disabilities represented 0.19%.
Nine clients, or 0.05%, belonged to other sectors, while one client, or 0.01%, was a beneficiary of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers program.
Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare emphasized that the National ID continues to play an important role in promoting social inclusion by enabling vulnerable and underserved sectors to establish trusted proof of identity.
“Access to a trusted proof of identity empowers individuals to participate more fully in society. Through the National ID, beneficiaries of government assistance programs, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, children, and other vulnerable sectors are better able to access services and opportunities that contribute to their overall well-being,” Losare said.
Guimarasnons across age groups continued to benefit from National ID registration, reflecting its importance at different stages of life.
Of the 16,604 clients served during the period, 3,643, or 21.94%, were senior citizens ages 60 and older.
Children ages 5 to 9 accounted for 1,911 clients, or 11.51%.
Individuals ages 15 to 19 accounted for 1,328 clients, or 8%, while children ages 0 to 4 accounted for 1,326 clients, or 7.99%.
The remaining 8,396 clients, or 50.56%, belonged to other age groups, showing that National ID services continued to reach Guimarasnons of all ages.
Losare noted that access to legal identity is particularly important for people who regularly use government programs and public services.
“The National ID is more than a means of identification—it is an important tool that supports financial inclusion, facilitates access to healthcare, education, employment, and government assistance, and promotes equal opportunities for every Filipino. By making National ID services accessible to all sectors of society, we help build more inclusive and empowered communities,” she added.
The National ID serves as a trusted proof of identity that can help individuals establish their identity when accessing government and private-sector services.
PSA Guimaras continues to work closely with local government units, barangay officials, partner agencies, educational institutions, and community organizations to keep National ID services accessible.
The office is placing particular emphasis on reaching people in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas and members of priority sectors.
PSA Guimaras encouraged beneficiaries of government assistance programs, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, parents or guardians of young children, and other eligible Guimarasnons to avail themselves of National ID services.
The office also encouraged residents to maximize the benefits of having trusted proof of identity when accessing government and private-sector services.
Through sustained collaboration with its partners, PSA Guimaras said it remains committed to promoting inclusive identity services and ensuring that no eligible Guimarasnon is left behind in National ID registration.
