SILAY CITY – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Negros Occidental, in collaboration with GCash, made National ID registration more accessible during the KYC On-The-Go event at Gaisano Grand Silay on December 19-20, 2024.
The initiative allowed residents to register for the National ID, obtain ePhilIDs, and link their National ID information to GCash accounts, highlighting the ID’s practical applications in financial and government transactions.
Over two days, 18 residents registered for the National ID system, 14 ePhilIDs were issued, and several attendees downloaded their Digital National IDs.
The event showcased the National ID’s potential to simplify identity verification for financial services, enabling participants to open GCash accounts and access digital financial solutions.
KYC On-The-Go is part of GCash’s broader initiative to make financial services more accessible by integrating National ID registration into local community events.
Similar events have been conducted in other areas, including Bulacan, Davao City, and Cebu, underscoring the value of partnerships between PSA and private organizations in expanding essential services to underserved communities.
PSA Negros Occidental continues its efforts to increase PhilSys registration in the province by working with local and national stakeholders to ensure that residents can benefit from the opportunities provided by the National ID system.
For more information about National ID registration or upcoming events, visit the nearest PSA office or the PhilSys website at https://philsys.gov.ph/.
