PSA chief supervises palay survey in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY — Philippine Statistics Authority Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa conducted field supervision for the Palay Production Survey in Bacolod City on Oct. 10.
Mapa was joined by OIC Regional Director John F. Campomanes and Supervising Statistical Specialist Diesah S. Biaoco during the courtesy visit and field supervision.
The activity formed part of the quarterly monitoring of the Palay Production Survey, which gathers essential information on palay production and the outlook for the succeeding quarter.
Respondents were asked about their palay production during the reference quarter, standing crops and planting intentions for the next quarter.
The PSA said the data provide insights into palay production performance in the province and serve as inputs in generating agricultural statistics used for planning, policy formulation and decision-making in the agriculture sector.
The field supervision also allowed officials to observe survey operations and reinforce the importance of collecting accurate, complete and timely data in accordance with established statistical standards and procedures.
The PSA said the activity reinforces its commitment to ensuring the quality and reliability of agricultural statistics used to monitor palay production trends.
