BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Philippine Statistics Authority Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa conducted field supervision of the Rice and Corn Stocks Survey for household and establishment samples in Bago City, Negros Occidental, on May 2, 2026.
Mapa, the national statistician and civil registrar general, was joined by RSSO-NIR Officer-in-Charge Regional Director John F. Campomanes and Negros Occidental Provincial Statistical Office Supervising Statistical Specialist Diesah S. Biaoco during the field activity, according to the PSA Negros Occidental Provincial Statistical Office.
The PSA said the supervision covered the Rice and Corn Stocks Survey for Household and Establishment in Bago City.
The survey is conducted nationwide based on the Philippine Standard Geographic Code, including the National Capital Region, to generate rice and corn stock inventories from selected households and establishments.
The data gathered from the survey serve as vital inputs in the estimation and compilation of national accounts, the PSA said.
During the visit, Mapa personally engaged with respondents, including establishment owners and household samples, to verify information on rice and corn stocks.
He also explained the purpose of the survey to respondents to strengthen their understanding and cooperation.
The PSA said the engagement allowed Mapa to validate field procedures, assess data accuracy and gain firsthand insights into current stock levels and agricultural production practices.
