KALIBO, Aklan — The Philippine Statistics Authority Aklan Provincial Statistical Office marked the 36th Civil Registration Month by bringing an outreach activity to the Missionaries of Charity in Polo, New Washington, Aklan on Feb. 12, 2026.
The activity, announced in a press release dated Feb. 24, 2026, was presented as PSA Aklan extending service beyond its office to reach people in need.
PSA Aklan said the outreach was guided by this year’s Civil Registration Month theme, “Navigating the Future Together: Advancing CRVS in Shaping the Global and Regional Data Ecosystem.”
In the release, the provincial office stressed that advancing civil registration and vital statistics is not only about strengthening data systems, but also about recognizing the people behind the numbers.
PSA Aklan described the outreach as a commitment to inclusivity, aimed at ensuring that vulnerable members of society are remembered, valued and supported.
Through the collective efforts of its personnel, the office donated groceries, toiletries and other essential items for residents under the care of the congregation.
The initiative was framed as more than charity, with PSA Aklan saying it reflected unity and shared responsibility in building a future where every life is counted and cared for.
PSA Aklan said the outreach forms part of its regular annual commitment to community service, particularly during the Civil Registration Month celebration.
Over the years, the office said it has integrated charitable initiatives into its observance, reinforcing its view that public service extends beyond mandates and official functions.
While maintaining its mandate to deliver civil registration and statistical services, PSA Aklan said the activity underscores a broader commitment to community engagement.
The office added that reaching out to those in need affirms public service goes beyond documents and data, and is also about touching lives and fostering hope.
