BACOLOD City – Association of Negros Producers (ANP) Vice President for Advocacy Mary Ann Colmenares said certain products were sold out during the launch of the 36th Negros Trade Fair at Glorietta 2 in Makati City last Tuesday.
Colmenares told reporters that while the official opening of the booths was scheduled on Wednesday, trade fair enthusiasts trooped to the exhibit area and purchased products displayed.
“I was informed a lot of items were sold out,” she said.
One of the products showcased is “batwan,” fruits of a locally grown tree used to add flavor to dishes because of its sour taste.
Negrenses food specialties are also in demand.
“They really missed us,” Colmenares said.
She also said that a total of 93 booths were set for the exhibitors including those from Negros Oriental and some local government units who also want to showcase their products.
“We are really glad we are back in Glorietta we felt how they missed us, the support is still there,” she said.
The Negros Trade Fair resumed its exhibit after a two year hiatus due to the pandemic.
It is the longest running trade fair which started in 1985.
The trade fair runs until September 25, 2022. (Negros Occidental PIO)
