The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) has turned over 18 additional light transport vehicles to provincial police offices across Western Visayas, bolstering their operational capacity and response capabilities during the peak of the holiday season.
The blessing and turnover ceremony took place on December 26, 2025, at Camp Gen. Martin Teofilo B. Delgado in Iloilo City, under the leadership of Police Brigadier General Josefino D. Ligan.
The 18 Toyota Innova vehicles, worth PHP 26,094,600 (USD 468,000), were acquired through the Capability Enhancement Program and funded under the 2025 General Appropriations Act.
These units add to the 41 light transport vehicles turned over last week, reflecting a sustained commitment from the national government to equip police units with reliable mobility assets.
The newly distributed vehicles were assigned to four Provincial Police Offices (PPOs) to strengthen police presence and operational efficiency in their respective jurisdictions.
Aklan PPO received three vehicles; Antique PPO received two; Capiz PPO received four; and Iloilo PPO received nine.
PBGen. Ligan said the arrival of the vehicles comes at a critical time, ensuring improved police visibility, faster response, and stronger peacekeeping efforts throughout the region.
“Their arrival is timely during this holiday season, a period when police visibility, mobility, and rapid response are crucial to ensuring that our communities can celebrate in peace and safety,” Ligan said.
He underscored that the vehicles are public service instruments, not personal conveniences, and called on police personnel to maintain and utilize them with integrity.
“Let us always remember that these assets are provided for public service, not for personal convenience. May we use them efficiently, care for them properly, and maintain them diligently so they may serve their full intended lifespan and benefit as many communities as possible. By doing so, we honor the trust entrusted to us and ensure that these vehicles remain reliable instruments of protection, service, and hope for the Filipino people,” he added.
The turnover underscores PRO6’s commitment to responsive policing, resource accountability, and strengthened community partnerships to maintain safety and order in Western Visayas.
