The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) arrested 12 drug suspects and seized an estimated PHP1.4 million worth of suspected shabu in a series of anti-drug operations conducted across Western Visayas within a 24-hour period.
From 6:00 a.m. of August 5 to 6:00 a.m. of August 6, 2025, PRO6 conducted nine operations that led to the confiscation of around 210 grams of suspected shabu packed in 75 plastic sachets.
Among those arrested were three identified High-Value Individuals (HVIs) and nine Street-Level Individuals (SLIs), according to PRO6.
One of the most significant operations occurred in Barangay Calumpang, Molo, Iloilo City, where an HVI known by the alias “Bebe,” a 28-year-old jobless resident, was apprehended by the Iloilo City Police Office’s City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) and Police Station 4’s Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET).

The buy-bust, conducted at 3:27 p.m. on August 5, yielded 120 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP816,000, along with 26 sachets, a knot-tied plastic bag containing the substance, buy-bust money, and other items.
In a separate operation in Leganes, Iloilo, police operatives arrested another HVI, alias “Marmar,” resulting in the seizure of about 51 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP340,000 and one unlicensed firearm.
PBGEN Josefino D. Ligan, PRO6 Regional Director, praised the officers for their commitment and professionalism.
“These accomplishments reflect our sustained and resolute efforts in eradicating illegal drugs across Western Visayas,” Ligan said.
“I commend our operating units for their dedication and professionalism in conducting these operations. Let us continue working hand-in-hand with our communities and stakeholders as we build a safer, drug-free region for the generations to come,” he added.
All suspects are currently in police custody, and charges are being prepared in accordance with the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Photos from ICPO and IPPO)
