PRO-NIR welcomes 50 new nonuniformed personnel

BACOLOD CITY — The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) formally welcomed 50 newly appointed nonuniformed personnel (NUPs) during an oath-taking ceremony at Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr. in Barangay Estefania here on Monday.

The new personnel will be assigned to various divisions at the regional headquarters to perform essential functions in administration, finance, logistics, human resources, communications, technical services, and other support areas.

They will help ensure that police personnel have the resources, systems, and services necessary to perform their duties efficiently and effectively.

Their work will also support the overall delivery of police services across the region.

Police Brig. Gen. Rudecindo Reales, PRO-NIR director and administering officer during the ceremony, urged the new NUPs to take pride in their roles, remain responsive and accountable, and continuously develop their skills.

Reales said their contributions, although often behind the scenes, directly affect frontline police services.

“You do not have to wear the uniform to serve the people,” Reales told the NUPs, as he acknowledged their competence, dedication, and integrity which are valuable contributions to the mission of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

He reminded them that joining the PNP means becoming part of an organization entrusted with protecting the public, maintaining peace and order, and delivering essential public services.

Reales assumed leadership of PRO-NIR on Sept. 7, succeeding Police Brig. Gen. Romano Cardiño, who was reassigned to lead the Police Regional Office in Eastern Visayas.

PRO-NIR supervises police operations in Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Siquijor, and Bacolod City.
