BACOLOD CITY — The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) reported zero major security incidents during the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, based on its final assessment covering Oct. 29 to Nov. 2, 2026.
Consolidated monitoring data showed that 377,587 people visited cemeteries, memorial parks and columbaria across the region during the five-day period.
Nov. 2, All Souls’ Day, recorded the highest daily turnout, with 182,592 visitors.
Police Brig. Gen. Rudecindo Reales, PRO-NIR director, attributed the peaceful observance to security preparations, operational readiness and sustained police visibility throughout the deployment period.
The Undas security operations involved 3,119 personnel from the police, partner agencies and force multipliers.
They were deployed to cemeteries, memorial parks, columbaria, major thoroughfares, transportation hubs and other areas where large crowds were expected.
The personnel provided public assistance, monitored crowd movements and responded to security concerns during the observance.
Reales also directed continuous red-teaming activities to assess police readiness, identify potential security gaps and address operational concerns.
Red-teaming involves simulated security challenges and readiness checks designed to test how personnel respond to possible threats or operational weaknesses.
“Ang maayos at mapayapang paggunita ng Undas 2026 ay bunga ng maingat na pagpaplano, kahandaan, at maayos na koordinasyon ng ating mga kapulisan, katuwang na ahensya, force multipliers, at mga lokal na pamahalaan,” Reales said in a statement.
He also commended police personnel, partner agencies and other security forces for their dedication to maintaining public safety and order.
The security operations covered the Negros Island Region, which comprises Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental and Siquijor.
PRO-NIR’s report of zero major incidents reflects the absence of significant security disruptions recorded during the monitoring period, rather than an absence of all minor incidents or requests for police assistance.
