The activity was led by PBGEN Dennis A. Esguerra, officer-in-charge of PRO NIR, and was attended by PCOL Lito E. Patay, OIC of the Deputy Regional Director for Operations; PLTCOL Robert E. Agda, OIC of the Regional Community Affairs and Development Division; and other officers and personnel of PRO NIR.
A total of five teams, composed of 10 personnel each, are participating in the 15-day training.
The participants include one team from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOcPPO), two teams from the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOrPPO), one team from the Siquijor Police Provincial Office (SPPO), and one team from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) NIR.
The Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay program is a flagship initiative of the Philippine National Police (PNP) that aims to bring police services closer to the people, particularly in far-flung and conflict-affected areas.
It seeks to enhance community engagement, promote peace and order, and strengthen the government’s campaign against insurgency, terrorism, and criminality through a whole-of-nation approach.
The 15-day training is designed to build the competencies of PNP personnel in community policing, conflict resolution, and peacebuilding.
It places special focus on equipping officers assigned to remote and vulnerable communities with the skills needed to foster public trust and peace.
Through this program, the PNP aims to reinforce its mission of promoting genuine partnerships between the police and the public.
PRO NIR, through this initiative, reaffirms its commitment to building safer and more resilient communities.
The program reflects the PNP’s core values of service, integrity, and compassion.
It ensures that police presence is not only visible but meaningful at the grassroots level.
By empowering officers to work hand in hand with citizens, the PNP strengthens public trust and promotes lasting peace across the region.
