PRO NIR blood drive draws 142 police personnel

The Police Regional Office Negros Island Region held a bloodletting activity in Bacolod City on July 21, with 142 Philippine National Police personnel participating to help sustain the supply of safe blood for patients in need.
The activity at Kanlaon Hall in Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr., Barangay Estefania, was part of the 31st Police Community Relations Month, which carries the theme, “Sa Bagong Pilipinas, Ugnayang Pulis at Mamamayan: Tapat, Maaasahan at Nararamdaman ng Bayan.”
Participants came from the Regional Headquarters, Bacolod City Police Office, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, and Regional Mobile Force Battalion.
PBGEN Romano V. Cardiño, regional director of PRO NIR, led the activity with PCOL Simeon L. Gane Jr., C, RCADD, and PCOL Marie Toni Joy P. Dickson, C, RMDU NIR.
The event was coordinated with Raymund Calderon of Alagang Unilab; Ainee Trabadillo of Unilab-Westmont, including Nutribest and Glucobest; Negros First Blood Bank; and the Bacolod City Health Office.
Organizers said each blood donation could help save lives and provide hope to individuals and families facing medical emergencies.
PNP personnel also received free health and wellness services, including blood pressure monitoring, physical examinations, bone and blood scanning, and basic medicines.
Mercury Drug and Grace Pharmacy discount cards were also distributed to promote the health and well-being of police personnel.
“Every bag of blood donated today is a symbol of hope and compassion for those in need. This initiative reflects our commitment to protecting lives not only through law enforcement but also through humanitarian service. As we celebrate the 31st Police Community Relations Month, we remain steadfast in delivering Seen, Appreciated, Felt, Extraordinary Police Service to every Negrense,” Cardiño said.
PRO NIR said the initiative reflected its commitment to compassion, volunteerism, shared responsibility, professionalism, and community partnership beyond law enforcement.
