BACOLOD CITY – The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) has pledged its full support to Police Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., recently appointed as acting chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
In a statement, PRO-NIR Director Police Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay expressed confidence in Nartatez’s leadership and reaffirmed the regional office’s loyalty and support to his command.
Ibay cited Nartatez’s wisdom and vision as key qualities that will drive continued transformation and improved service delivery within the PNP.
PRO-NIR also extended congratulations to Nartatez, wishing him success in leading the organization toward a safer, more peaceful, and progressive Philippines.
“Your distinguished career, integrity, and unwavering dedication to public service inspire the entire police force,” PRO-NIR stated.
The Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NORPPO) likewise extended its congratulations and committed to fully supporting Nartatez’s leadership and directives.
NORPPO also reiterated its commitment to public service and its mission of building a more secure nation.
During an emergency meeting last week with top police officials in the region, Ibay emphasized the PNP chief’s seven-point agenda.
The agenda includes enhancing police operations management, intensifying campaigns against illegal drugs, loose firearms, and terrorism, implementing risk management systems, securing vital installations, improving event management, promoting personnel welfare, and strengthening resource management.
Ibay also reminded all personnel to act responsibly when expressing views, especially on social media, to uphold professionalism and discipline within the organization.
“Think before you click,” he said, urging officers to exercise prudence in their online and social media activity.
