Five operations across Iloilo City and nearby areas resulted in the capture of three high-value individuals (HVIs) and four street-level individuals (SLIs).
Authorities recovered 61 plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 259 grams, with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PHP 1,761,200, and nine sachets of suspected marijuana weighing about 4 grams valued at PHP 480.
One of the major busts was led by the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) through the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), backed by ICPS2 and the ICPO SWAT Team, which resulted in the arrest of alias “Sazkie,” 32, a security guard from Carles, Iloilo, temporarily residing in La Paz, Iloilo City.
Tagged as an HVI, “Sazkie” was caught in Barangay Baldoza, La Paz, in possession of around 200 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP 1,360,000.
In a separate buy-bust operation, ICPO-CDEU also apprehended alias “Leon,” 53, an e-bike driver, and alias “Ran-Ran,” 49, a construction worker, both residents of La Paz, Iloilo City and classified as HVIs.
The two were caught with approximately 50 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP 340,000.
Regional Director PBGEN Josefino D. Ligan lauded the relentless efforts of operating units and reaffirmed PRO 6’s commitment to combating illegal drugs.
“This accomplishment shows the dedication of our police officers in safeguarding our communities from the scourge of illegal drugs,” Ligan said. “We will continue to intensify our operations until every barangay in the region becomes drug-free.”
All suspects are now under police custody pending the filing of charges.
