The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) formally welcomed 397 new police recruits during an oath-taking ceremony on Dec. 16 at the PRO-6 headquarters at Camp Martin Teofilo Delgado in Iloilo City.
The recruits are part of the Calendar Year 2025 Attrition and Regular Recruitment Program.
PRO-6 said 300 recruits were hired under the attrition quota and 97 were hired under the regular quota.
Brig. Gen. Josefino Ligan, the Western Visayas police director, led the oath-taking as the new patrolmen and patrolwomen formally entered the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Ligan congratulated the recruits for completing the recruitment process and said the oath signified a lifelong commitment to serve with integrity, discipline and respect for human rights.
He reminded the recruits that wearing the PNP uniform entails responsibility, sacrifice and dedication to public service.
“The road ahead will be challenging, but it will also be meaningful. Stand firm, serve faithfully, and always remember: ‘To serve and protect is not just our mission, it is our promise to the nation,’” Ligan said.
PRO-6 said the oath-taking marked the recruits’ official entry into the PNP as they prepare for further training and deployment to strengthen police presence and enhance public safety across Western Visayas.
