The Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 has warned applicants against persons who will offer their services as a way to hurdle the police recruitment process.
Brigadier General Sidney Villaflor, Western Visayas police chief, said on Friday that there might be unscrupulous individuals who will take advantage of the police applicants’ desire to enter into the service.
“Do not be deceived by dubious persons who will promise you that you will surely be accepted if you will pay them a certain amount of money,” Villaflor told applicants.
The region’s top cop was mum, though, if he already received information about such activities.
But Villaflor stressed that he will give no mercy, especially if those who will act as fixers are active PNP members.
Meanwhile, Colonel Luther Lugo, Regional Recruitment and Section Unit (RRSU)-6 chief, said that they have a system in place to deter fixers from gaining access to the hiring process.
“We will not entertain application not done by the applicant himself,” he said.
Lugo said that PRO-6 is currently looking for 300 new policemen, as part of the attrition quota.
Submission of applications is until September 12.
Lugo said that the chosen 300 might take their oath before the year ends.
