ILOILO CITY — More than PHP 4 million worth of suspected illegal drugs were seized during the Police Regional Office 6’s weeklong anti-narcotics campaign.

The seized illegal drugs had a combined standard drug price of about PHP 4,194,216.
During the period, PRO-6 conducted 23 anti-illegal drug operations, including eight operations targeting high-value individuals, 13 against street-level individuals and four classified as “Not Listed.”
The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 recorded the biggest shabu seizure at 241 grams, with a standard drug price of PHP 1,638,800.
It was followed by the Iloilo City Police Office, which confiscated 224 grams worth PHP 1,523,200.

The Aklan and Antique police provincial offices reported no shabu seizures during the period.
Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño, Western Visayas police chief, emphasized that the campaign goes beyond confiscating illegal drugs, highlighting the importance of sustained police action and community cooperation in protecting families and communities.
“Our goal is to help keep illegal drugs away from our communities, especially our young people. We will continue to conduct focused operations and work closely with our partner agencies. We also encourage the public to share credible information through proper channels because keeping our communities safe is a shared responsibility,” he added.
Tuaño also urged the public to report suspected illegal drug activities to the nearest police station while reminding parents and guardians to guide their children toward healthy and responsible choices.
He also advised the public against confronting suspected individuals.
Instead, he urged residents to allow authorities to handle reports safely and lawfully.
