PRO-6 seizes PHP 28.8M in drugs, arrests 120

ILOILO CITY — The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) seized approximately PHP 28.8 million worth of suspected illegal drugs during a 25-day anti-narcotics campaign across Western Visayas.
From Oct. 1 to 25, 2026, police units confiscated approximately 4.235 kilograms of suspected shabu, 56.25 grams of suspected marijuana, 2 grams of liquid marijuana and 2.70 grams of suspected kush, with a combined standard drug price of PHP 28,809,716.
The operations resulted in the arrest of 120 individuals during 97 anti-illegal drug operations conducted across the region.
The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) recorded the largest volume of suspected shabu seized at 1.759 kilograms, while the Iloilo City Police Office accounted for another 1.154 kilograms.
The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 6 also reported recovering 1.166 grams during its operations.
The reported value of the confiscated substances was based on the standard drug price used by law enforcement agencies to estimate the value of illegal drug seizures.
The seized substances are subject to laboratory examination to confirm their composition as part of the investigation and prosecution process under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PRO-6 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño said the figures reflected the importance of sustained police operations and the need for community involvement in preventing illegal drugs from reaching families and neighborhoods.
“Every operation is more than a number on a report. It is about keeping drugs away from our communities and preventing another family from being affected,” he said.
Tuaño vowed to continue working closely with communities, emphasizing that lasting progress against illegal drugs cannot be achieved by the police alone.
The PRO-6 director also urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspected illegal drug activities to the nearest police station or appropriate authorities.
He advised residents to avoid direct confrontation with suspected offenders and share only verified information with law enforcement agencies.
