PRO-6 relieves Molo police chief Ryan Inot
By Jennifer P. Rendon
ILOILO CITY – After months of retaining his post following the controversial raid at Iloilo City Police Station 4 (ICPS 4), Police Capt. Ryan Christ Inot was officially relieved of his duties effective Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026.
Police Col. Wilbert Parilla, Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) director, said the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) ordered Inot’s relief from ICPS 4 in Molo and his reassignment to the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO).
Parilla said he was not surprised by Inot’s relief, noting that he and PRO-6 Director Police Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño had discussed the matter in October.
“I think, he will be off to an even better assignment,” he said, but did not elaborate further except that Inot would serve as a municipal police station chief in Iloilo province.
Parilla also clarified that Inot’s relief had nothing to do with the controversies involving the former Molo police chief.
“It has no relation at all,” he added.
Meanwhile, Parilla said he had yet to choose who would replace Inot as ICPS 4 chief.
During a press conference on Sept. 28, Tuaño said Inot would retain his post despite the administrative charges filed against him.
The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) 6 had filed administrative charges against Inot and two of his personnel following an investigation into the controversial police operation.
Inot was charged with grave misconduct and grave neglect of duty, while one of his subordinates was charged with grave irregularity in the performance of duty and another with grave neglect of duty.
NAPOLCOM-6 initiated a pre-charge investigation involving 15 police personnel following the controversial July 1 operation at ICPS 4 conducted by the Philippine National Police Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG).
The investigation covered Inot, 13 of his personnel and one member of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 6.
During the investigation, NAPOLCOM found no probable cause to file administrative charges against the 12 other personnel.
Investigators also established the presence of a wanted former police officer near the ICPS 4 facility based on closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage.
However, ICPS 4 personnel did not arrest him.
Investigators also found that a person under police custody (PUPC) was outside the detention cell when IMEG personnel, supported by the PNP Special Action Force (SAF), conducted the operation.
The administrative cases against Inot and his two personnel remain separate from the reassignment, which Parilla maintained was unrelated to the controversy.
NAPOLCOM-6’s earlier finding of probable cause allowed the administrative proceedings to move forward but did not constitute a final determination of liability.
