PRO-6 nabs three most wanted persons in Iloilo, Aklan, Antique

ILOILO – The Police Regional Office 6 arrested three provincial-level most wanted persons in separate manhunt operations across Western Visayas on Aug. 24, 2026, all of them facing charges involving sexual offenses.
The three arrests were carried out in Janiuay, Iloilo; Makato, Aklan; and Sibalom, Antique, and were announced in separate news releases issued Aug. 25 by the PRO6 Regional Public Information Office.
In Iloilo, police arrested the No. 6 Provincial-Level Most Wanted Person at about 4 p.m. in Barangay San Julian, Janiuay.
The accused was identified only by the alias “Berto,” 26, single, and a resident of Janiuay.
Intelligence operatives of the 604th Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6, conducted the operation together with the Janiuay Municipal Police Station.
He was arrested by virtue of a warrant for qualified rape under Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act No. 8353 and Republic Act No. 11648.
Republic Act No. 8353, the Anti-Rape Law of 1997, reclassified rape as a crime against persons, while Republic Act No. 11648, signed in 2022, raised the age of sexual consent in the Philippines from 12 to 16.
The warrant was issued on March 5, 2026, by the Regional Trial Court, Sixth Judicial Region, Branch 27 in Iloilo City, with no bail recommended.
The accused was informed of his constitutional rights in a language he understands before he was brought to the Janiuay police station for documentation and disposition.
In Aklan, police arrested the No. 7 Provincial-Level Most Wanted Person at about 4 p.m. in Barangay Poblacion, Makato.
The suspect was identified by the alias “Allen,” 34, and a resident of Makato.
Personnel of the Makato Municipal Police Station served a warrant of arrest for two counts of statutory rape.
The warrant was issued on Aug. 19, 2026, by the Regional Trial Court, Sixth Judicial Region, Branch 3 in Kalibo, Aklan, likewise with no bail recommended.
The suspect remains in the custody of the Makato police station for booking and documentation before he is turned over to the issuing court.
In Antique, police arrested the No. 9 Provincial-Level Most Wanted Person at about 9:30 a.m. in District II, Sibalom.
The accused was identified by the alias “Rey,” 21, single, and a resident of Sibalom.
Personnel of the Sibalom Municipal Police Station served a warrant of arrest for three counts of acts of lasciviousness under Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code.
The warrant was issued on Aug. 14, 2026, by the Regional Trial Court, Sixth Judicial Region, Branch 11 in San Jose, Antique, with a recommended bail of PHP 10,000 for each case, or a total of PHP 30,000, for his temporary liberty.
The accused is in the custody of the Sibalom police station for documentation and disposition before he is turned over to the court concerned.
